Coming from diverse dance backgrounds—Rafal in traditional folk dances, and Jessica in classical dance—Jessica and Rafal found Lindy Hop right around the same time and became immediately addicted. As teachers, they love sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston, and other jazz era dances with students, and they continue to seek new opportunities to learn more about the histories and languages of social dance. Since they began working together in early 2013, Rafal and Jessica have been privileged to perform at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night’s Swing, Jazz Age Lawn Party, and Carnegie Hall, and you can find them on the social dance floor almost every night of the week at home in New York City, or seeking out live music wherever they happen to be.
