About Michael Jagger & Evita Arce:

Evita and Michael bring an exuberant energy and joy to every project, whether it's teaching classes world-wide or performing in renowned theaters. They have performed at The Rose Theatre, The Kennedy Center with Wynton Marsalis, The Lincoln Center, The Edinburough Jazz Festival, Camp Savoy, and at the Lyric Theater in the West End of London. They were the only Lindy Hop couple to advance to finals in Las Vegas on season 3 of FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance”. Michael and Evita have won awards at several national swing events, most notably their 1st place wins in the Cabaret Divisions at ALHC and ILHC.

Currently, they teach regular classes at Dance Manhattan. As teachers, Michael and Evita emphasize anatomy and efficient use of the body. Known for their skills in teaching connection and clearly projecting direction, Michael and Evita help their students improve their dancing by creating a positive and welcoming learning experience for dancers of all levels. Workshop Schedule:

10:45–11:00 am Registration & Warm-Up

11:00 am–12:15 pm A: Fundamentals (all levels)
Review the fundamentals of Lindy Hop. Dancers of all levels are highly encouraged to attend this class as it will lay the foundation for the rest of the day.

12:30–1:45 pm B: Lindy Hop Moves & Variations (all levels) 
Michael and Evita will introduce new patterns and rhythms while keeping the emphasis on connection and balance.

1:45–2:45 pm Lunch Break

2:45–4:00 pm C: Charleston (all levels)
This is a fun and energetic class geared towards dancers who already know the basic Charleston and are ready to take it to the next level. Michael and Evita will integrate new Charleston moves into existing Lindy Hop patterns.

4:15–5:30 pm D: Performance Routine (all levels)
Michael and Evita will incorporate all of the content from the day into an exciting
performance routine. It is recommended that students take all 3 previous classes in order to be ready for the choreography.

We use the secure PayPal service in order to collect funds from a credit card, or from an existing PayPal account (if you already have one).

Student discount: $10 off total (must show valid college/high school ID)

To receive the pre-registration discount, payment must be received by April 17, 2010. Registration is not complete without payment. Cash and checks accepted at the door.
